KG College of Arts and Science (KGCAS) was established in the year 2005. The institution is recognized under 2(f) & 12(B). The college is affiliated to Bharathiar University, accredited by NAAC with A++ in the academic year 2022-2023. It is ISO 9001:2015 certified institution. The college is awarded autonomous status vide UGC, New Delhi letter No. F.2-10/2023(AC-Policy) dated 13.11.2023 and Bharathiar University, Coimbatore letter No-548/A2/2024 dated 23.08.2024. The institution offers 16 Undergraduate, 05 Postgraduate and 08 Research programmes in Arts and Science. Being an autonomous college, it is essential to constitute various authorities of autonomous institution and develop suitable mechanism for curriculum design, delivery, examination/ testing and evaluation pattern and to frame rules/ regulations/ ordinances to implement autonomy effectively.
Controller of Examinations
Dr. D. Kavitha, Controller of Examinations, KG College of Arts and Science is an Associate Professor with 20+ years of teaching experience and 10+ years in research. She has 36 publications in International Journals and conferences. Her area of specialization is Data mining and a life member in IAENG. She has successfully guided 12 MPhil scholars. She has completed her Under graduation in Applied Sciences in 1996 from PSG College of Technology and her Post graduation in Computer Applications in 1999 from Avinashilingham Institute of Higher Education for Women. She completed her M.Phil degree in Computer Science at Bharathiar University in 2008. In 2018, she has received her Doctorate degree in Computer Science from Avinashilingham Institute of Higher Education for Women. In her career, she has served as Assistant Professor in the Department of MCA from (2000-2002) in PSG College of Technology. She has served as Assistant Professor (2005-2009), as Head in the Department of Computer Science (2009-2018) and as Director (2018-2021) in KGiSL Institute of Information Management. She served as Head in the Department in Computer Applications (2021-2023), KG College of Arts and Science, before assuming the office of Controller of Examinations. Her vision is to create leaders of tomorrow.
