The last Saturday of 2024 at KGiSL Educational Institutions was a day of pure fun, hearty laughter, and sweet bonding with the Golden Connect program. We invited our beloved parents and grandparents to this new initiative’s first edition to celebrate our growing family.
With a wonderful turnout of 30 guests, our team poured their hearts into the program- beginning with a nostalgic karaoke session. Our students’ rendition of classic Illayaraja and S. P. Balasubrahmanyam hits had our beloved elders singing along. Our guests took to the stage and kept the music going with impressive solos, like Mr. Nachimuthu, who brought the house down with “Kanne Kalaimaane” and “Kanmani Anbodu”.
The program only got livelier with the gaming session, with Mr. Rangasamy wowing us all with his remarkable hand-eye coordination. The games not only brought out everyone’s playful side but also got our guests enthusiastically recounting their favorite games, familiar comforts, and funny anecdotes from their younger years. Ms. Poongodi’s stories of her childhood antics were particularly wholesome.
The morning concluded with the audience sharing a laugh over clips from retro movies like Rathakaneer and evergreen Koundamani jokes. The fun continued into the afternoon with lunch and some lighthearted catchup.
The heartfelt vote of thanks from Ms. Balamani Gunasekar and the heartwarming conversations that followed speak to the success of the first Golden Connect event. With a big shoutout to our elders who made the morning precious, here’s hoping our campus continues into the new year as a space for shared stories, cherished memories, and a deeper sense of belonging.
